Our research team invites you to the next event in the Czech-Slovak-Hungarian initiative Early Music in Central Europe: Local Elements – Transregional Connections – International Research, where our colleagues Hana Vlhová-Wörner and Jan Ciglbauer from Prague will discuss the latest outstanding discoveries of their research group. They will present parchment fragments found this year in the National Library in Prague, which contain pieces of vocal polyphony – organa and clausulae – associated with the ars antiqua period and the Notre Dame School of Paris in the 12th and 13th centuries. Primary relics of this period and style are extremely rare in Central European source material, and the Czech fragments are therefore of inestimable importance for the history of medieval music and culture in the region.
The lecture will take place on 15 December 2021 at 5PM CET via ZOOM. To register, follow the link in the invitation until 5PM CET on December 14th.
