Recently discovered musical codex fragments at the Archdiocesan Library of Eger

The pompous Baroque hall of the Archdiocesan Library of Eger held further treasures for the research group. Besides two fragments of a gradual of great size with square notation we discovered the fragment of a 15th-century antiphonal surviving as cover of a 17th-century print which contains the works of Péter Pázmány. On the fragment the responsory Salve nobilis virga Yesse is transmitted. Its musical notation remarkably resembles the notation of the Antiphonale Strigoniense I. 3c of the Cathedral Library of Esztergom (http://esztergom.bibliotheca.hu/scan/ms_i_3_c/index.html). In a broader sense it belongs to a group of late-medieval manuscripts for Mass and Office, which we can reconstruct based on an ever growing number of fragmentary remnants.
